Oak Wilt—All red oak species, including those with pointy-tipped leaves, are susceptible to oak wilt. White oaks, especially those with round-tipped leaves, are less vulnerable. Rapid wilting and leaf loss, commencing at the top of the tree, are signs of oak wilt.
Emerald Ash Borer—Emerald Ash Borer is a parasite that originated in Asia. It was identified in the United States in 2002 and attacks the most valuable and numerous trees in the country, Ash trees. EAB larvae burrow into the bark of the Ash tree and feed on it.
Anthracnose Disease—Anthracnose is a fungal disease that causes leaf spots, cupping or bending of leaves, and early leaf drop in shade trees. Anthracnose is most common in the spring when the weather is chilly and damp.
Leaf Spot Disease—Leaf spot is a phrase used to describe a variety of diseases that affect the foliage of ornamentals and shade trees. Fungi create the majority of leaf spots; however, bacteria can also cause them.
Rhizosphaera Needle Cast Disease—Rhizosphaera needle cast is caused by fungi belonging to the Rhizosphaera genus. Fir, cedar, spruce, and pine are among the conifer species infected by this genus. Browning or purpling of the needles, which finally fall from the tree, leaving bare patches, are disease symptoms.
